Using disruptive Technologies to facilitate the Ecological transition of the Nautical sector

Piloting phase

The TEcoNaut Project is entering an exciting new stage — the piloting phase!

In Month 23 of the project, the final version of the course “Sustainable Materials in the Boat Building Sector” will be tested across partner countries. This activity, led by SOIB (Spain) with the participation of Edu TR (Turkey) and other partners, aims to assess the quality, usability, and relevance of the course to the needs of VET learners and the maritime industry.

Each participating VET centre and company will involve at least 30 users per country, ensuring that over 60 learners and professionals across Europe will experience the course through both theoretical and practical sessions.

As part of the preparation phase, Gölcük VET (Turkey) organized two coordination meetings within its Shipbuilding Department to evaluate the piloting process and define local implementation strategies. During these meetings, feasibility studies were conducted to align workshop conditions, materials, and schedules with the pilot requirements. In addition, vocational teachers actively contributed by sharing insights and suggestions on improving the course’s hands-on components and sustainability-related modules.

These collaborative efforts mark an important step towards a successful and well-structured piloting phase. Feedback gathered during the preparation will guide Edu TR and other partners in ensuring that the course is both technically accurate and pedagogically effective.

Ultimately, the pilot results will serve as a foundation for the final deliverables of the TEcoNaut project, strengthening the connection between VET institutions and maritime companies and supporting the green and digital transition in vocational education.
