With the TEcoNaut Project they proudly deliver a truly cutting-edge initiative that promotes eco-friendly practices, making a remarkable difference in their community.
In a wonderful achievement that reflects the curriculum’s focus on next-generation materials, students at their school proudly produced a prototype boat using 100% recyclable, organic, and sustainable materials—specifically flax (linen), hemp, and basalt. Linen and fiber for a 3-meter boat.
After receiving an education abroad, students began producing environmentally friendly boats in the school workshop.
TEcoNaut, a European Union-supported project, has inspired students to go above and beyond the usual production techniques.
The project created a sustainable prototype boat and gave students hands-on vocational and green technology experience, marking Türkiye’s first sustainable boat built in a vocational high school under the Erasmus project.
They crafted the boat with Turkish linen and natural, bio-based resin.
TRT (Turkish Radio and Television Corporation) took notice of this inspiring project and visited the school to capture the students’ determination in action. Their vision and commitment to sustainable production are drawing national attention and admiration!
This outstanding success showcases the perfect union of responsible production, vocational excellence, and international recognition—an achievement to be celebrated!
The team’s next goal is to produce a 6-meter boat! Go Gölcük Şehit Volkan Tantürk Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School!
