Using disruptive Technologies to facilitate the Ecological transition of the Nautical sector

TEcoNaut at the Yacht Industry Skills Centre inaugurated in Ełk (Poland)

We are always amazed by our partner’s involvement in our project!

⛵ 🎓 On June 30, the Yacht Industry Skills Centre was inaugurated in Ełk and is the only such place in Poland.

The Yacht Industry Skills Centre is a place where, during training, students will be able to acquire knowledge and skills in the field of:
– design,
– construction and maintenance of yachts and boats,
– installation of equipment elements,
– repair of vessels,
– and modern technologies used in the yacht industry.

BCU was created by the Ełk District in cooperation with the POLBOAT – The Polish Chamber of Marine Industry and Water Sports. The project was co-financed by the National Recovery Plan.

💡 During the ceremony, Dr Eng. Artur Karczewski from WIMiO delivered a lecture titled “Research projects and collaboration with industry as a catalyst for the development of staff, PG graduates, and innovation in the industry.”

Dr Karczewski discussed Gdańsk University of Technology’s experiences implementing research and development projects and their impact on building competencies for future engineers and facilitating knowledge transfer to industry.

Special attention was given to the design and construction of yachts, with a particular focus on the international Erasmus+ TEcoNaut Project, which plays a significant role in advancing innovation and sustainability within the yachting sector.
