Great news from our Turkish partner, Gölcuk Mtal
They are successfully continuing our pilot training in sustainable maritime and advanced technology at Gölcük Şehit Volkan Tantürk Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in Turkey.
With 6 teachers and 30 students, they are conducting practical studies using vacuum infusion and hand lay-up techniques on a product developed with innovative and sustainable materials designed to minimise environmental impact.
In this pilot, their students:
• Evaluate the physical and mechanical properties of materials,
• Assess environmental impact and recyclability dimensions,
• Compare traditional boat-building materials with new generation composites.
The TEcoNaut pilot implementation continues to proceed regularly and in a well-structured manner.
They highly value that students are working within a hybrid model, supported by online course modules developed within the project’s scope. As a result, they are combining hands-on workshop practices with digital and reflective learning components. We are proud of both the process and our students’ engagement.
In addition, their supplier, BPREG, kindly provided flax materials at no cost for the training activities. This support, together with the strong backing they receive in Türkiye, clearly demonstrates the trust placed in the project and its objectives.
Topics such as sustainable maritime, green technologies, material selection, life-cycle approach, digital modelling, and design tools are addressed within the unity of theory-review-application.
TEcoNaut is a concrete, field-based Erasmus+ application that prepares our students not only for today’s but also for tomorrow’s green and high-tech maritime sector. This step we have taken in Gölcük continues to serve as a powerful example of the transformation of vocational education.
New updates from our pilot process coming soon!
